Doug Grieve

President, Portfolio Manager

Doug began his career at BMO Capital Markets where he spent 14 years as an institutional trader & Managing Director for the Preferred Share institutional desk. Doug branched out after the 2008 financial crisis & began managing private client money & is the founder of Slater Asset Management with 21 years of experience in Preferred Shares, he is the Portfolio Manager for two Preferred Share funds totalling over $185 million in assets. 

Doug holds a BA in Political Science from Queens University.

 

 

Richard Ngo

Associate, Portfolio Analyst 

Richard assists in analyzing potential investment opportunities & is credited with creating several Preferred Share models & strategies.  Richard actively participates in portfolio analytics & research and is responsible for fund operations.

Prior to joining Slater in May 2016, Richard gained 4.5 years of experience as a Senior Investment Accountant at both State Street & Citco, two of the largest hedge fund administrators, where he grew his technical & fund operation capabilities. Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from Saint Mary's University. 

 

 

Andy Burgess

Managing Partner, Director

Andy leads & oversees the marketing & strategic direction of Slater & is the current & former CEO of many successful private equity firms. One of them being Somerset Entertainment, a leading producer & distributor of specialty music where he was the CEO for 15 years, & grew revenues from $3 million to $100 million. 

Andy is also Chairman of the Board of Governors at Upper Canada College and a Trustee at Sanctuary Ministries and the Daily Bread Food Bank. He started his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Co. and later worked as a member of the management team at Loblaws.

Andy received an MBA from INSEAD and graduated with an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University.
